Dashiell Meier

Dashiell Meier is a college student, storyteller, disability rights advocate, speaker, and filmmaker. The National Down Syndrome Society 2025 Ambassador of the Year and Special Olympics Global Messenger, Dashiell advocates for people with Down syndrome and other disabilities in California, nationally and internationally. A prolific public speaker, in 2024 he spoke both at the United Nations in New York about health equity and at the World Down Syndrome Conference in Australia. He is part of the Stanford INCLUDE Down Syndrome Alzheimer’s Healthy Aging Working Group and helps medical students learn about caring for patients with ID/D.

Besides his school and advocacy work, Dashiell is an award-winning actor and filmmaker. His films, which often focus on disability, have appeared in festivals around the country. His current projects are an animated short and a feature documentary about the history of Down syndrome.
