Supported Decision-Making (SDM) Planning

Indiana’s Youth Ambassadors are working with the Indiana SDM Coalition to create educational resources on SDM and the importance of self-determination for other self-advocates, families, educators, and the public. These materials will include short video examples about the importance of self-determination, interviews with people from Indiana who are using less-restrictive decision-making supports, and educational materials targeted to people with disabilities and their families. These efforts are part of Indiana’s state plan to increase the use of less restrictive alternatives to guardianship that was developed through a grant from the Administration on Community Living.
